Customer Display

Use a secondary screen to show the active cart and a promotional slideshow to the customer.

The customer display opens a second window on an external monitor, giving the customer a real-time view of the cart being built for them. When no transaction is in progress, the display cycles through a configurable slideshow of promotional images. As soon as items are added to the active cart, the display switches automatically to show the cart contents and totals.

The customer display requires a connected secondary monitor and is only available on the Windows desktop version of the In-Store App. It is not available on web or mobile.

Launching the customer display

  1. Navigate to Settings in the app's navigation.
  2. Scroll to the Customer Display section.
  3. Tap the Launch Customer Display tile. The subtitle reads Open display on secondary monitor.
  4. A loading spinner appears while the window is opening.
  5. On success, a Customer display launched notification is shown. The tile updates to show Customer Display Active with the subtitle Tap to close the display.

If the window fails to open, a Failed to launch customer display error notification is shown. Ensure the external monitor is connected and recognised by Windows before retrying.

What the customer sees

The display has two modes that switch automatically:

Slideshow mode (idle)

When no cart is active or when the preview is paused, the display shows a full-screen slideshow of promotional images. Images transition with a crossfade animation at the configured interval.

If no slideshow images have been configured, the display shows a storefront icon and the text Welcome on a plain background.

If a configured image fails to load, a placeholder image icon is shown in its place.

Cart mode (active)

When the active cart has items and the preview is not paused, the display switches to the cart view. It updates in real time as the staff adds, removes, or changes items — no manual refresh is needed.

The cart view shows:
